There isn’t another place on the planet quite as heavenly as Bermuda. Bermuda is paradise throughout the year. You can easily get there from the U.S. east coast. In fact, from NYC, it’s just a two-hour plane ride. But it’s nothing like anywhere you’ve ever been. This British isle has beaches skirted by pink sands and a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe. It’s an upscale, popular tourist getaway thanks to the natural friendliness of native Bermudians.
While it’s popular with tourists, don’t let that fool you — a tourist trap this is not. You won’t find many typical souvenir shops or commercialization. For instance, there’s only one fast-food restaurant on the entire island: a Kentucky Fried Chicken that existed before the island’s residents opted to ban fast-food chains. Instead, you’ll be treated to fresh island meals in an old-world setting, complete with perfect weather throughout the year. Did we mention this island has some of the world’s most gorgeous beaches?
So, if this isle is paradise at any time of year, when is the best time to go? If you want to be part of the annual tourist migration, May through October is the season. The weather is balmy and you’ll have plenty of other tourists to rub elbows with.
While fall and winter can turn a little cooler, these aren’t bad times to visit. For instance, there are festivals in January that are fun to participate in, such as Bermuda’s Restaurants Weeks where you can get to know the families behind some of the island’s best fare. The Bermuda Triangle Challenge is a weekend full of fun-runs, marathons, and other fun activities.
In spring, attend the island’s International Film Festival and meet some of the industry’s finest stars. Visiting around Easter highlights the island’s traditions, plus the Kite Festival fills the sky with colorful and stylish kites over Horseshoe Bay.
From April through September, every Wednesday evening is Harbour Nights, a car-free zone block party. Grab local vendors’ wares, check out artistic projects of local artists, watch Bermuda’s Gombey dancers put on a show, or take part in a host of other local activities. In June, the Bermuda Carnival comes to town.
Whether it’s the annual events or the pink sands along these shores, Bermuda has something special for everyone. Bermuda is paradise throughout the year. Come discover what it has for you!
